2022 Grant Recipient Stories

Thank you for selecting me for the grant.  I chose to take a short trip to Brandon.  I, along with my parent, left early in the morning and we had my favorite breakfast at McDonald's in Portage.  When we arrived in Brandon, we went and visited the Air Commonwealth Museum.  I saw lots of planes and some old vehicles, like a red fire truck.  In the gift shop, I bought a small blue plane which is hanging up in my room at my parents.  Next, we went to the shopping center on the North Hill and I bought some stuff at Michael's and stopped for lunch at Dairy Queen.  We also went to Daly House and my mom liked the large garden next to the house.  We were able to see a lot of rooms filled with antiques.  There was a large room added to the back of the house which was set up like a store. I saw an Eaton's can and lots of tins of tea.  I recognized lots of labels and the house smelled of cinnamon.  On our way to the hotel room, we stopped at the Riverbank Discovery Center.  It was a really nice day, so we walked some of the trails along the river.  I didn't see any beavers or muskrats like the sign said to watch for.  There was an exercise space where you could try different machines.  I liked trying them.  In the gift shop, there were lots of Indigenous art, books and puzzles.  I got a small totem pole puzzle to work on.  We also stayed the night at the Super 8 hotel, took a ride into Grand Valley and ate at Boston Pizza.  Dad drove us home through Minnedosa, Neepawa and Portage la Prairie.  I was able to recognize all the different crops and machinery.  I had an excellent trip.  Thank you for this opportunity.

I want to  thank the Possibility Grant for choosing me as a recipient. I was able to choose and buy a new dining table and chair set. I'm so happy! I have already used it for meals and doing my crossword puzzles. I will enjoy it for years to come. Thank you again.

I would like to thank the Possibility Committee for the $400 I received.
The money was used for a mini vacation to Clear Lake MB.
I had a great time swimming, eating out, seeing 7 bears in total and a boat cruise on the Martese.
The Captain let me steer the boat, honk the horn and dock the boat.
This was the highlight of my trip.
Thank you so much to the grant committee.
