Me and My Friend Ron...

Hi, it’s Amy!  I just wanted to tell you a bit about me and Ron.  I met Ron when I was 18 years old in the summer of 1996 at Camp Manitou.  This was only a brief encounter only lasting a couple of weeks.  We did not see each other after camp for about 6 years.  I guess Ron and I were destined to become friends; in 2003 I started working at ILRC where I ran into Ron again.  We started hanging out a bit, going for coffee and movies and have been a good friends ever since.

What I enjoy most about Ron is his sense of humour.  Whenever we hang out he is always making me laugh.  Ron also has a very sensitive and caring side and hates seeing people hurt or upset.  You’ll see if his staff are ever run down or tired he will tell them he wants them to take a rest or a holiday, and if you are hurting you can see it in his eyes that he feels it too.  You can see that Ron truly cares about people, friends and strangers by his undying love for police work.  Ron always wants to take care of everyone around him, he loves security work for this reason, he wants to make sure that he is keeping his friends and community safe.

Ron and I really like just hanging out, either at the apartment chatting or we will go out.  We like to go either to the café a McNally Robinson for milkshakes and cake or for dinner at Ciao’s restaurant in Place Promenade.  Occasionally Ron and I also like to watch movies, sometimes we will catch a flick at the Globe or the IMAX or Cinema City, and sometimes we will just stay in and watch a movie at the apartment.

Ron is great at meeting new people.  He is very outgoing and has no problem with introducing himself to new people.  He loves meeting new people especially if you are a pretty girl.  Ron is also very good at throwing a great shaker whether it’s his birthday party at one of his favourite restaurants, Christmas dinner in his apartment banquet hall or just a friendly summer get together to enjoy fresh air on his huge balcony with all his friends.

As you might have noticed friends and family are very important to Ron, and definitely a priority.  You will notice it in his character if he is not seeing those that are important to him, he will not be himself.

I’ll leave you with one Ron and Amy fact just in case you are wondering.  You’ll notice on Ron’s bliss board a square that says Boo Boo.  For the first year I knew he tried very hard to learn how to say my name.  In his attempts it just kept coming out Boo Boo instead, not sure why but it did.  So eventually he decided oh well, I guess I will just call her Boo Boo, hence the name on the board and why Ron calls me Boo Boo.
